Village and Department Updates  

For any business that needs to be conducted with the Village of Little Chute, we ask that you first visit our website or call the appropriate office or staff person. We offer most services without making an in-person visit.  Here are some helpful pages that will enable you to stay connected digitally:

Should you choose to visit one of our facilities, please be assured the following measures are in place:

  • Plexi-glass dividers will be present at all public facing counters
  • Social distancing measures will be in place to limit the number of people in facilities when necessary
  • Hand sanitizer will be available at all entrances
  • Increased frequency of cleaning and disinfecting all surfaces
  • Staff are encouraged to wear face coverings when in public settings where other physical barriers or social distancing measures are difficult to maintain
  • Single use pens

General Public Guidelines - We need your help to ensure we best keep you and our staff healthy. Please help us by continuing to follow these general guidelines:

  • Stay home if you are feeling sick
  • Practice social distancing and maintain 6 feet of distance whenever possible
  • Each facility will have 6 foot markings to assist with social distancing
  • Each facility may have unique instructions for entrance and exit.  Please be respectful and cognizant of these instructions and guidelines for your safety, your neighbors, and our staff
  • Per CDC recommendation, wear a face covering if you are able when in public
  • Practice proper handwashing by washing your hands with soap and water for 20 seconds

Facility Reopening Information - Beginning on Tuesday, May 26:

  • The Village Hall will be open to the public in order to conduct in-person business.  Building inspection and zoning permit requests shall be conducted by appointment only. 
  • The Fox Valley Metro Police Department lobby will be open to conduct in person business. 
  • The Kimberly – Little Chute Library will be open for limited business and you should check their website here for updates on schedule and offerings:
  • Park facilities will be open for general use. Public restrooms are tentatively slated to open on May 26th, 2020.

  • Starting on the April 1st Regular Board meeting, the Village of Little Chute will be providing virtual meeting opportunities for all public meetings. This means you can observe and participate in meetings via your computer or phone from home.  While the Board room will be open for public attendance during meetings at this time, we strongly recommend all members of the public participate virtually.  You can find more by reviewing each individual agenda for instructions on joining meetings.  You can find Village Board meeting agendas here:
  • Our number one goal at this time is to continue all essential operations for the residents of Little Chute, which may mean changing how we do business.

Clerk’s Office

  • Election participation information may take up to 30 days to appear in your voter record. Absentee ballot tracking information will only display up to Election Day for each election. Please use My Voter Info to check the My Voting Activity section and verify your participation for the 2020 Spring Election and Presidential Preference. We have begun recording election participation, but it may up take to 30 days for this process to be completed.

Community Development

  • The Community Development Director and Building Inspector have provided updated policy and guidance related to COVID-19 - you can find these updates here: 
  • To provide the safest and best service to the community, the Community Development and Inspections Department will be available for in person meetings by appointment only. Building and Zoning permits along with general information on permits, will be available outside our office on the 3rd floor room 3-2 as well as online. To set up an appointment see below:

Department of Public Works

  • Public Works can be reached by calling (920) 423-3865 or e-mailing At this time our day to day operations have not changed.
  • Renewal of Yard Waste Access Card can take place starting Tuesday, May 26th.  For more information on the process click here.
  • The County has rescheduled the tire collection for the week of July 13 - 17
  • Services Resume - Bulky and White Good (Metal) Collection & Wednesday Bagged Yard Waste Collection  The Village will resume bulky and white good (metal) collection the last week of May on your normal collection day.  If your item has freon in it (fridge, freezer, etc.) the item needs to have a sticker attached to it and the door(s) taken off.  Stickers are $20 and are available for purchase at Village Hall.  Please call (920) 423-3865 if you are in need of a sticker since Village Hall is currently closed to the public.
    Non-metal bulky items will also be collected. A reminder that no electronics will be accepted – computers, televisions, etc. Bulky items are items that cannot fit into your garbage polycart. Extra bags of garbage will not be collected. Construction material is also not considered bulky items.
    Also, curbside collection of bagged yard waste will start on Wednesday, May 13th.  If you are interested in this service a $2 sticker would need to be purchased for each bag.  Call (920) 423-3865 for more information on how to purchase these stickers. Collection takes place every Wednesday till September 23rd.   You would need to call in your address once the yard waste is ready for collection.
  • Yard Waste Site - The yard waste site opened on March 27th. Yard waste access cards that were active in 2019 will continue to operate as normal.  Once the Village Hall reopens, we will provide updates on renewing for 2020.  If you lost your card or you would like to purchase a new card contact the Department of Public Works at (920) 423-3865.

  • Permits - Right-of-way permits should be submitted through e-mailed to All payments should be mailed to Village Hall or dropped off in the outside payment drop box at Village Hall.

Engineering Department

  • Questions regarding construction projects or assessments can be taken by calling 920-423-3865.
  • Engineering staff are available during normal business hours (7:00 AM to 3:30 PM) and can be contacted by phone as listed in the Village of Little Chute Engineering Department Staff Directory.

Finance Department

  • Suggested Payment Options during the emergency include: Mail (staff is picking up mail and processing each day from the Post Office) or drop box under canopy on Grand Avenue entrance (box emptied several times daily on business days plus a supply of envelopes in box next to payment box for your convenience)
  • Online Utility payment service using our 3rd party provider PSN. Suggest using FREE e-check options or there is a credit card option available for a fee of 2.75%. See further information
  • Need a dog license? We encourage the public to print the online application form to fill out and mail in or use night drop box including required information and payment. We will mail back your license and documentation.

Fox Valley Metro Police Department

Kimberly - Little Chute Library

New information as if 9/15/2020:

  • Browsing is currently not available. 
  • Curbside service is available during regular business hours. 
  • Computer/fax/printing is available curbside or with computer appointment.
  • Check out our Roku streaming service, Wifi hotspots, Lynda for libraries and expanded downloadable content.
  • Coming soon: Outdoor wifi, laptops for circulation.

Little Chute Fire Department

Municipal Court

  • In-person payments currently not accepted. Citations can be paid one of three ways:
    • Online: (jurisdiction code 6738)
    • Outside drop box (located on East side of Little Chute Village Hall): Cash, check or money order
    • US Mail: Please make check payable to: Village of Little Chute & do not send cash in mail
  • Defendants can submit a written plea (no contest, guilty or not guilty) for upcoming court dates. No contest or guilty pleas may include a brief statement. Any person failing to respond shall still be found in default as if they did not appear.
  • Submit plea one of four ways (all pleas should be signed and dated and include a phone number where you can be reached).

  • Initial appearances scheduled for March 19, 2020 and April 16, 2020 are being rescheduled. You will be notified by mail of your future court date. You may submit a written plea (as stated above) if you prefer.
  • All not guilty pleas (submitted as stated above) will be referred to the Little Chute Village Prosecutor. You will receive instructions on how to proceed. Please remember to include your phone number.
  • If you do not wish to contest your citation (and did not plan to appear in court) please follow above instructions for payment.

Parks, Recreation, and Forestry Department

  • Families are encouraged to register for summer programs online ( or by calling 920-423-3869.
  • Cancelled all recreation programs through the end of May. Fees will be refunded to those program registrants.  Recreation program offerings for summer will be modified so that we can offer limited programs starting in July.  
  • Cancelled free senior activities program and practices for the community band until further notice.
  • Cancelled all Van Lieshout Rec Center facility rentals through the end of August. Renters will receive a full refund if they cannot rebook their event.  Until further notice, we cannot book out the indoor Van Lieshout Rec Center for events.
  • Cancelled all open-air park shelter rentals through 5/31.  Renters will receive a full refund if they cannot re-book their event.
  • Village parks and trails are still open to the public but the village strongly encourages you to maintain social distance of at least six feet from other people.  Do not use parks or trails if you are sick.
  • Water fountains in village parks are shut down until further notice.
  • As of 5/19, park playgrounds and the skate park are again open for public use (they were closed from 3/25-5/18).  Signage posted to please follow CDC Public Health Guidelines when using playground and "Use At Own Risk".
  • As of 5/26, park restrooms will be open again for public use (they were closed from 3/25-5/25).  Signage posted to please follow CDC Handwashing Guidelines to stop spread of germs and stay healthy.
  • As of 5/31, outdoor park shelters were available for private rentals under the guidelines set for reopening of outdoor facilities. Groups are limited to 50 people of less, should practice social distancing, are meeting at their risk due to COVID-19, and should sanitize tables before & after their rental.
