1.
What day do I have recycling pickup on?
Most residents have recycling pickup on the same day as their garbage pickup. If you do not know your day of pickup, please call the Department of Public Works at 788-7395. Remember - recycling is picked up every other week and must be placed curbside by 7 a.m. on your day of pickup or the night before. Only residences (single family up to 4-plexes) have curbside recycling pickup. Residences larger than a 4-plex are considered businesses, and therefore must recycle on their own or hire a private contractor to pick up their recycling.
2.
What do I place my recycling in?
Residents must place all of their recycling in the 64-gallon blue recycling container that was delivered to each residence (single family through 4-plexes) in September 2009. We now have single-stream recycling which means that glass, plastic, tin, aluminum, and small cardboard pieces should be placed together in the blue cart. If you have a few larger pieces of cardboard, they must be broken down into 3' x 3' pieces and placed under the lid of the cart. Do NOT put any items in plastic bags! Also, shredded paper should be placed in a paper grocery bag and stapled shut before placing it inside of the blue container.
3.
What do I do if I have recycling that will not fit in my container?
Residents may take their recycling (extra cardboard, etc.) to the Outagamie County Recycling Center, located off of Holland Road (use gate 3). Drop off is available Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and Saturdays from 7:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (excluding holidays). There is no charge for residents to drop off recycling items.
4.
Who do I call if my recycling is not picked up on my day of pickup?
Outagamie County is in charge of the recycling program, and they have a contract with Inland Service Corporation of Kaukauna. If you have problems with your recycling pickup, please call Inland Service Corporation at (920) 759-0501. If after contacting Inland Service Corporation you still have recycling pickup problems, please call the Outagamie County Recycling Coordinator at (920) 832-4710.
