Jets Football Program

The Jets Football program is open to upcoming 6th, 7th, & 8th graders who want to participate in a tackle football league.  The league does not encourage the "winning is everything" or "win at all costs" philosophy.  This level of competition is intended to be a safe & fun experience for the players and coaches.  All reasonable effort are made by the coaches to include all players in each game.

2019 Jets Football Player Registration Packets will be available in early April at Little Chute Park & Rec or it can be downloaded by clicking HERE.  Registration packet contains important information and forms that must be completed and returned prior to the registration deadline.  There is a $60 per resident and $70 per non-resident player registration fee for Jets Football.  

All players and parents are required to attend the 2019 Jets Meeting with Coaches on Wednesday, May 8 at 6:00pm in the Little Chute High School Auditorium.  Prior to the start of the meeting, parents can turn in completed registration paperwork with payment.  They can also verify if records show the student needs a physical prior to the end of July or if they just need an alternate year card completed by a parent to be turned in.  Physical forms and alternate year cards will be available at the May meeting.  

The 2019 Jets Football season begins on Monday, August 12 and ends in mid October.  Practices are held at Van Lieshout Park, and home games are played at the Little Chute High School (1402 Freedom Road).  If you have any questions regarding the Jets Football Program, please call the Park & Rec Dept at 423-3869.

Baseline ImPACT Testing Information for Little Chute Jets Players:
Head injuries are on the rise for athletes at all levels of play. It is estimated that between 1.6 and 3.8 million concussions occur in the USA per year during competitive sports and recreational activities; however, as many as 50% of concussions may go unreported.  The Little Chute Gridiron Association has contracted with Ascension Medical Group to perform FREE Baseline ImPACT Testing for all of the players registered for Jets Football this year.  Testing dates for 2019 are May 15, May 22, May 29, and August 12; test is computerized and takes about 25 minutes to complete.  Testing must be done before a concussion occurs in order to establish a baseline “or normal” cognitive score. Baseline tests are suggested every two years. If a concussion is suspected, the baseline report will serve as a comparison to a repeat ImPACT test, which professionals can use to assess potential changes or damage caused by a concussion.  If a concussion is suspected, please contact an Ascension provider who is clinically trained in concussion management and ImPACT.
