Sanitation
There could be a few reasons:
1. We will not pick up your garbage if you have placed recyclables in the container.
2. If your garbage or recycling polycarts are placed too close to other objects, we may not pick them up. They must be placed a minimum of 4 feet away from each and any other object.
3. Garbage and recyling must be placed curbside by 6 a.m. on your day of pickup, or the night before.
4. Garbage and recycling must fit inside of their polycarts with the lid closed.
5. Polycarts must not be placed where vehicles may park and block access to it. If polycarts cannot be reached, they will not be picked up.

Please check the Garbage and Recycling Calendar for the dates in April and December that the Village picks up extra bags of garbage that don’t fit inside of your polycart. If residents recycle properly, they should have no problem fitting all of their garbage inside of the polycart. Residents may request another garbage container; however, they will then be billed for two containers on their monthly Kaukauna Utility bill (Sanitation/Recycling fee). Otherwise, residents have the option of taking their garbage to the Outagamie County Landfill.

You can dispose of the above electronics through the Outagamie County Department of Solid Waste E-Waste Program. There is a fee for each television, computer monitor, computer tower, printer, and fax machine. Recycling
Most residents have recycling pickup on the same day as their garbage pickup. See the Garbage and Recycling Calendar for pickup dates. If you do not know your day of pickup, please call the Department of Public Works at 423-3865. Remember - recycling is picked up every other week and must be placed curbside by 6 a.m. on your day of pickup or the night before. Only residences (single family up to 4-plexes) have curbside recycling pickup. Residences larger than a 4-plex are considered businesses, and therefore must recycle on their own or hire a private contractor to pick up their recycling.
Powered by Froala Editor
-
Residents must place all of their recycling in the 64-gallon blue recycling container that was delivered to each residence (single family through 4-plexes). All recyclables must fit loosely into your recycling container with the lid closed. Mix your glass, plastic, tin, aluminum, and small cardboard pieces together in the blue cart. Crush your cans, plastic jugs, and bottles if necessary. A few larger pieces of cardboard broken down into 3' x 3' pieces may be placed under the lid of the cart. Do NOT put any items in plastic bags! Also, shredded paper should be placed in a paper grocery bag and stapled shut before placing it inside of the blue container.Recycling

Be sure to "break down" and flatten boxboard and cardboard boxes. A few large cardboard boxes may be flattened and cut to no larger than 3ft X 3ft and placed under the lid of the card.
